How do you batch process this feature? I have a selection that I need to &quot;paste in place&quot; in over 70 images.<br /><br />When is Adobe going to make their tools more symbiotic? You&#39;d think that since Illustrator and Flash have Paste in Place functionality that Photoshop would have an actual menu command that did this and not just some secret SHIFT+drag shortcut. I&#39;ve always done:<br /><br />ctrl + c<br /><br />then<br /><br />ctrl + left click that layer<br /><br />then<br /><br />ctrl + v<br /><br />New thing will appear where the selection is (which is where the old thing is).<br /><br />If you lose your selection:<br /><br />ctrl + shift + d will bring it back.<br /><br />Another thing I do is:<br /><br />ctrl + j to duplicate the layer

Unfortunately, you can't use selections with roonda's suggestion just the entire layer, so it's not a real Paste in Place substitute.<BR/><BR/>Huge thanks to mortgage though, that is a great tip!! just to add, you do have to have a marquee tool still selected..I switched to the Move tool and got a different contextual menu.

While dragging and dropping layers form another document in CS3, push and hold SHIFT before dropping the layer in the new document. "paste in place" complete!

I was searching for this same option and as you probably know as of late, CS2 and above <--guessing; has "paste into" CTRL+SHIFT+V.<BR/><BR/>Love it, helps a a lot!<BR/><BR/>Also the mortgage site above looks great!<BR/><BR/>Take care.

In CS3 there is a better workaround..<BR/><BR/>Make a selection )with the marque etc) then right click inside your selction and select "layer via cut" from the menu.<BR/><BR/>This creates a cut and paste of your selection on a new layer :o) Effectively a 'paste in place'.<BR/><BR/>If you are copying from one document to another then just drag your selction into the grey area and this should also
